VEX IQ Challenge European Invitational 2019

hosted at the Baltic Open 23th -24th of November – Pärnu, Estonia

The first ever VEX IQ Challenge European Invitational 2019 hosted at the Baltic Open will take place on 22 th -24th of November 2019 in Pärnu, Estonia.

All European VEX IQ teams are eligible to participate in the competition, which will also include a Robot Skills Challenge.

CONFIRMATION OF PARTICIPATION Following the deadline for the registration, the number of registrations per country will be assessed to ensure that the number of registrations does not exceed the cap.

PRELIMINARY PROGRAMME Friday 22th of November 2019 Arrival and registration, inspection Saturday 23th of November 2019 Opening ceremonies, Day 1 of the VEX IQ Challenge Sunday 24th of November 2019 Day 2 of the VEX IQ Challenge, closing ceremonies End of event and departure (15:00 / 3:00 pm )

REGISTRATION FEES AND OFFICIAL BALTIC OPEN PACKAGE The registration fee is 150 euros per team. Additional costs will be 40 euros per participant for official Baltic Open 2019 package and 20 euros per participant for accommodation in Pärnu May School if necessary. . All registered VEX IQ Challenge Baltic Open 2019 participants (competitors, team leaders, coaches, etc.) are required to purchase the official Baltic Open 2019 package. The price of the package depends on the total quantity of participants and will be confirmed latest in September. The package will include the following: – Event participation – T-shirt and backpack. Backpack will serve as a ticket in public transportation. – Opening and closing ceremonies – Catering on morning and evening. – Dinner on Friday and Saturday – Lunch on Saturday and Sunday – Disco Party at May School on Saturday

With additional prize: – Estonia Spa visit – “11 000 years of history” walk and eat in Pärnu Museum

TRANSPORTATION Pärnu is located in Southern Estonia, approximately 130 kilometers from the capital, Tallinn and 178 kilometers from Riga, capital of Latvia. The nearest airport is Tallinn Airport or Riga Airport.

Ferry tickets Helsinki – Tallinn – Helsinki for participants – 20% discount (NB! Reservations with special discounts ONLY via Reiser Conferences, viivika@reiser.ee. Full names and exact dates of birth required) Private transfers Tallinn – Pärnu – Tallinn and Riga – Pärnu- Riga – please send inquiry to viivika@reiser.ee Transfer to and from the airport are not included in the package, but numerous bus connections are available. The travel time by bus from Riga is about two and half hours. Please note that the event starts early on Saturday, so participants should arrive on Friday. Distances within the town Pärnu are short.

ACCOMMODATION Two types of accommodation are available:

School accommodation, Friday-Sunday School accommodation is available just 250 meters from the venue. The accommodation is in classrooms and in a gymnastic room, and participants must bring their own mattresses, pillows and bedding. The school has a safe storage room for luggage. Free parking spaces are available near the school. Breakfast (Saturday and Sunday) and evening snack (Friday and Saturday) are listed above.

Hotel accommodation Baltic Open official hotel is Strand SPA & Conference Hotel (900 m from the main venue and 600 m from Mai School)). Transportation between the hotel and the venue is included in the package. The hotel will offer special rates for Baltic Open attendees. Twin room 60 eur/per night. Triple room 80 eur/per room/per night. The room price includes an abundant breakfast and spa visit during the hotel stay. Dinner in hotel restaurant 10 eur/per person/per dinner (2-courses)
