Invitation to submit an abstract to PATT38!
First call –
submission dead-line October 15, 2019
PATT38 in
Finland, in the University of Turku, Rauma Campus in April 27.―30. 2020
Dear Colleagues,
PATT (Pupils´
Attitudes Toward Technology) is an international community of technology
education colleagues (researchers, teacher educators, teachers, etc.) who are
interested in educational research as a support to developments in technology
teaching. In 2020, the 38th PATT -conference
is taking place in the University of Turku, Finland, on Rauma campus of the
Department of Teacher Education. The conference is from the 27th to
the 30th of April 2020.
On behalf of the
PATT38 organising committee we wish to invite you to submit abstracts for the
upcoming conference. The conference theme is Technology in
our hands – Creative pedagogy and ambitious teacher education. The
theme highlights the contemporary view of human cognition being ultimately
based on bodily experiences. In technology education, this implies the
acknowledgement of the importance of physical objects, experiences and
activities in the creation and application of technology.
A precondition
for high level technology education is ambitious teacher education. We
encourage you to submit abstracts that consider craft, design and technology
education in early childhood education, in primary and secondary education
as well as in higher education, as a cognitive, embodied experience of pupils
and students as well as various examples of pre-service and in-service
training and experiences and competencies of pre-service and in-service
teachers.
We invite
abstracts that are related to the conference theme or technology
education in a more general level. Abstracts will be
peer-reviewed. Full papers will be invited based on accepted
abstracts. All peer-reviewed and accepted full papers (3000 words) will be
published in the conference proceedings.
Deadline for
abstracts is October 15th,
2019.
Abstracts
(max. 300 words) should be submitted no later than on the 15th of
October 2019. The abstracts should be in IMRD form: introduction,
methods, results, discussion.
